ELD & Compliance

ELD compliance, on the same platform

An FMCSA-registered ELD integrated into Nexus — automatic Hours of Service logs, violation alerts before they bite, and roadside inspections handled in one tap. No second vendor, no second app.

FMCSA-registered ELD

Meets the federal ELD mandate for drivers required to keep records of duty status — delivered through the same platform that runs the rest of your fleet.

Violations flagged before they happen

Drivers and dispatch see remaining drive time live, with alerts as limits approach — so the violation gets prevented, not logged.

One app for drivers

HOS logs live in the same driver app as inspections, jobs, and messaging. One login, one workflow, no juggling.

Hours of Service, handled automatically

  • Drive time captured automatically from the engine — no manual logging
  • Duty status changes in two taps; personal conveyance and yard moves supported
  • Live remaining-hours clocks for drivers and dispatch
  • Alerts before a limit is crossed, not after

Frequently asked questions

Is the Nexus ELD FMCSA-registered?

Yes. ELD compliance in Nexus is delivered through an FMCSA-registered ELD solution integrated directly into our platform and driver app. Registration details are available on request.

Does my fleet even need an ELD?

Broadly: drivers of commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce who are required to keep records of duty status need an ELD, with exemptions including the 150 air-mile short-haul rule. Many local trade fleets are exempt — we'll tell you honestly if you don't need it, because you shouldn't pay for compliance you're not subject to.

Which plan includes ELD?

ELD compliance is included in the Complete plan. Fleets on Track or Manage can add it — get a quote and we'll price your exact mix.

What hardware does the ELD use?

The ELD uses an engine-connected device paired with the Nexus driver app. Your written quote lists the exact hardware for your vehicles — like all our hardware, the rental is included in your plan and covered by the lifetime warranty.
